Considering that the show's hook is just Frank screaming that he'll put you "through that fuckin' wall," it actually has a surprising lot of substance. Instead, we get a glimpse of the abusive father's inner workings as he discovers them for himself. A housewife who wants to be more than just a mother but finds it difficult to make a living in a culture that openly favors men. It's possible to view the 1970s as a major character in the show, portraying a time when safety was, if at all, even somewhat important.The generation that advocated "stop sobbing and rub some dirt in it" This is reflected in the animation style, which never shies away from gore but does it in a setting that, before the opening credits have even rolled, may very well be Tom and Jerry. F is for Family is known for its f-bombs and funny lines. Additionally, it makes an effort to elicit some real feeling from the audience through a variety of people, particularly Frank's father, who was as distant and aloof as one could expect. It never quite achieves the desired emotional highs, but that is not necessary. In fact, if it did, it would almost seem wrong.
