Several days later, the family's SUV was located in a parking lot near the US/Mexican border, but there was no sign of the family anywhere. Law enforcement discovered CCTV footage of a family of 4 crossing the border at night, but it was difficult to determine if the 4 people were actually the McStays. Did this family leave their house, pets, money, and family behind and flee to Mexico? Or did something much more sinister occur, preventing the family from returning to the lives they so loved?
