It is a Star Wars film that takes place five years after Return of the Jedi (1983). Jon Favreau served as the showrunner, and the season was made by Lucasfilm, Fairview Entertainment, and Golem Creations. In November 2017, it was revealed that a new live-action Star Wars television series was in the works. Pascal was cast in October 2018 at Manhattan Beach Studios in California, a month after Favreau signed on for the project. Industrial Light & Magic, a visual effects studio, created the StageCraft technology for the series.
