The grandpa of an eight-year-old kid who discovers him dead in a bar basement tells Rob that he was struck by a stranger with a baseball bat, but Vivienne is skeptical of his account. Later, Rob is under pressure from Vivienne to tell the Missing Persons Team that he stood in for David the night Sarah vanished. Vivienne and Rob begin looking into David while the team investigates the murder of a Portuguese au pair who was just discharged from her job.When a father and son are shot execution-style in broad public, the detectives are concerned that the violence may worsen; David views this as a chance to finally catch criminal boss Adrian Cook. Adrian Cook provides Rob with the name of someone who knows where Sarah is in exchange for him not noticing, but the individual later turns out to be deceased.
