This season handles the deaths of both Angela Everwood and Mayor Adam West by replacing her with Bert and Sheila in "Pawtucket Pete" and renaming James Woods Regional High School" to "Adam West High School" in "Adam West High", respectively.This episode features a story arc of Brian Griffin marrying a cancer patient named Jess Griffin and temporarily moving out of the house to go live in Spinazola Apartments again, starting with "Married ... With Cancer" and ending with "Dead Dog Walking".

This season debuts with the episode "Seahorse Shell Party," the second installment of Crossover Hurricane Night, featuring Family Guy, along with two other Seth MacFarlane creations, The Cleveland Show and American Dad! , both affected by the same hurricane, Hurricane Flozel. Such recurring characters as Muriel Goldman and Diane Simmons are officially killed off the series in the season premiere, "And Then There Were Fewer".Following the death of Diane Simmons, her character is replaced with new character, Joyce Kinney in the episode "Excellence in Broadcasting".Horace is killed off the series in "Save the Clam".In the same episode, Jerome Cool J replaces him, becoming the new bartender at the Drunken Clam and introducing himself to the recurring cast.This season harbors the third and final installment of the Star Wars Franchise, this being the season finale, "It's a Trap!".

Family Guy season 7 was a very competent season. While there aren't many classic episodes, most of the episodes are more fun and entertaining. "Road To Germany" was the best picture of the season, but there was more than a few laughs throughout the season. The writers did take the time to come up with more story-driven episodes, and some of them worked really well.

The season started off with the eagerly anticipated homage to Star Wars titled "Blue Harvest," which featured stunning animation and some creative character design, including Stewie as Darth Vader, Quagmire as Threepio and Peter as Han Solo. While the choice of the controversial Herbert as Obi-Wan may have raised a few eyebrows, the episode was generally entertaining, but certainly wasn't as great as it could have been. Considering that the hype around the episode was so high, and the fact that it did have its own standalone DVD release, "Blue Harvest" was a missed opportunity that succeeded only because of the source material it drew from.Thankfully, the majority of the episodes that followed managed to thoroughly entertain, including the history-making two-part Stewie and Lois murder episodes aptly titled "Stewie Kills Lois" and "Lois Kills Stewie." Stewie fulfills his series-long fantasy of killing his mother, and does so with the type of callous violence that you'd expect for this implausible scenario. Despite the cop-out ending in the second part, the journey was worthwhile and the barrage of jokes was relentless.

This wildly irreverent, shrewdly crude animated sensation that has been confounding the PC police since the last millennium is back! Not even the insufferable humiliation of network cancellation was enough to keep "TV's most outrageous cartoon clan" (TV Guide) down. So raise your martini glasses in unison as Family Guy returns with a vengeance for 26 more hilarious episodes that find Peter and his old teacher Mr. Fargus switching bodies, Chris befriending a pimple, Lois gaining weight, Meg getting a makeover, and Brian and Stewie going on a European Road Show. Take a bow, Family Guy!

Grandpa was tricked by a phone scammer into believing he needed to get Bart out of jail, costing him $10,000.

Smithers decides to help a deranged Mr. Burns go undercover as a man named Fred Kleinpool. Smithers was forced to expose his boss, resulting in Mr. Burns returning to his former tyrannical personality.

Homer" after running out of food while Marge and the kids are away from the house.

After the town is completely destroyed by fire, Mr. Burns rebuilds it in exchange for performing a variety show at the Springfield Bowl. However, when the event brings back bad memories for the old man who bombed when he first performed there 100 years ago, Burns tries to muster up the courage to perform again in an effort to redeem himself. While looking for a family to portray in his virtual reality, Mr. Burns hires Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie without Homer (Burns will play the father), leaving Homer alone at home to be his most Homer-like self. Homer makes a new friend in the woman who acts exactly like him.

In the new season, Homer and Marge go through a trial separation during which Homer dates a pharmacist and Marge dates the pharmacist's father after Homer uses his narcolepsy diagnosis as an excuse to be lazy. Homer is tasked with replacing the family's outdated, moldy washing machine, but instead finds and purchases a BBQ grill. After Homer being challenged to a cookoff, the grill is later stolen, prompting Bart and Lisa to look for it.

After being insulted by him from a comedy cable channel roast, Krusty turns to his father for advice, but lets him die before he can say whether he found it funny, which makes Krusty decide to retire. Meanwhile, Lisa, worried about losing her own father, tries to protect Homer from unhealthy food, and Tired of Bart disrespecting him, Homer tells Bart to eat broccoli and tries to punish Bart, so Marge signs the two up for the Relation Ship to solve their problems.

In season 25, in this twisted parody of Dr. Seuss' children's books, then disguises himself as "The Fat in the Hat" and causes mayhem throughout Springfield. After Bart is decapitated during a kite accident, his head is attached to Lisa's body and the two must live together as one — until Bart realizes that he can control the body while Lisa is asleep and decides to render her unconscious so he can possess her body. Homer and Marge play circus performers alongside Burnsum and Bailey in this parody of the 1932 horror film Freaks. Homer has a scheme to wed Marge to a circus freak (Moe) so he can rob him of an emerald ring.

The Simpsons move back to New York City. Bart learns that, out of all the women who have been interested in him, only Mary, Cletus Spuckler's daughter, has remained interested in him. Mary once assisted Bart in saving a cow, and now that she's settled in the Big Apple to work as a writer for Saturday Night Live, Bart wants to see her again. Professor Frink's Subatomic Supercollider releases a black hole that Lisa takes in as a pet – and the hole ends up sucking up all matter thanks to everyone using it as a waste disposal unit.

In season 23, Homer makes friends with the new security guard hired by the nuclear power plant, who has ties to the CIA and a traumatic past involving the Ukrainian Mafia. The "Will Ned Flanders and Edna Krabappel Stay Together" contest results are announced while Marge fantasizes about being on Top Chef. After Bart's most recent pranks, Principal Skinner challenges Superintendent Chalmers to get Bart enthused about learning something (anything), and finds success by educating Bart about Theodore Roosevelt's life and times.

In season 22, Lisa attends a performing arts camp and is encouraged by her supervisor and fellow campers to "embrace her creative side." When she returns, Lisa is unable to readjust to normal life and tries to recapture her "inner hipster". Although Nelson met Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and dropped out of school, Lisa uses the money her grandfather, Grandfather Simpson, provides her as part of his fortune to help finance Nelson's cycling business. Lisa tries to convey the value of education to Nelson after helping him believe that he can succeed.

After serving a prison sentence for starting a fight at an alcohol-free St. Patrick's Day parade, Homer becomes a bounty hunter and tags Flanders on a trip. Meanwhile, the Irish give Marge a job at his bakery. Lately, Bart feels left out when he realizes he's the only one without a cell phone. So, he tried to work as a golf ball finder for him at a country club to make money—and finds Denis Leary's phone instead.

Mr. Burns rewards him with dinner and a flight in the company's jet after Homer saves Mr. Burns from drowning, and Homer gets upset as he will never be rich or successful enough to enjoy a life of wealth. A freak accident transforms Homer into an opera singer (which can only be achieved by lying down), and he becomes the toast of Springfield's cultural elite - and the target of a crazed, motorcycle-riding female fan who blackmails him into becoming his manager.

In season 18, Lisa becomes friends with Michael, Fat Tony's son, who prefers to cook to run a crime ring. When the Simpsons are invited over for dinner and Fat Tony is shot, Homer becomes the town's newest kingpin. After annoying Homer's wife's funeral in Vegas, Bart gets a drum set to work out his aggression. He also gets the lead spot in a local jazz band, a position that saxophonist Lisa has been vying for for years. Lisa starts fostering abandoned animals in the meanwhile.

The zombie body of Billy the Kid, along with Frank James, Jesse James, the Sundance Kid, and Kaiser Wilhelm II, seizes control of the helpless town under the guise of William Bonney, Lisa soon learns.

In this season, Bart gets into trouble for taking a joyride in a police car, but he is confident that Judge Snyder will pardon him. However, Constance Harm takes Snyder's place as judge after she leaves on vacation before rendering her decision. She declares Homer to be a bad father and orders him to be chained to Bart. The two are initially opposed to it but later begin to connect. Marge, however, can no longer take it and cuts the tether from them both.

Alex makes Lisa's classmates forget about Lisa, and she starts to feel envious of Alex because she is not as impressive as Alex and chooses to be herself. Lisa's pals and Alex decide to arrange a school dance. When Lisa arrives at the dance, she sees that the males and females are seated at opposite ends of the dance floor because they are too shy to dance together. Because of this, Lisa may demonstrate that Alex and her classmates aren't as mature as they pretend to be.

An unidentified shooter shot Mr. Burns in the previous episode. Mr. Smithers thinks he may have killed Burns when he was drunken. When it is determined that he is innocent, the police question a number of additional suspects before finding Simpson DNA evidence on Burns. When Mr. Burns awakens, all he can manage to utter is "Homer Simpson." Homer escapes after the police accuse him of being a murderer. Lisa looks into the hints on her own and unearths crucial information that exonerates Homer, but just then he is sighted at the hospital.

A heat wave hits Springfield, and the townspeople try to cool off. Bart and Lisa convince Homer to buy the pool, which is popular with other children in town. Bart eventually breaks his leg by jumping off the treehouse and is forced to spend the rest of the summer in his room. Finding him isolated, Lisa gives Bart a telescope to cheer him up. Lisa's popularity grows with the pool, but she is soon abandoned when Martin-Prince's parents purchase a larger pool.

Homer recalls his days as a member of The Be Sharps, a barbershop group that also included Principal Skinner, Apu, and Chief Wiggum, who was later replaced by Barney, in a flashback. With the help of their Grammy-winning hit song "Baby on Board," the group rose to fame as musicians. However, Homer started to miss his family, and the group's popularity started to decline. It soon becomes clear that Sideshow Bob is the sender of the threatening letters that Bart begins to receive in the mail. When Bob is allowed to leave jail, the Simpson family is transferred to Terror Lake.

Bart and Lisa go to Kamp Krusty in the summer to have a break from their parents and meet Krusty the Clown. However, their promises of a fun summer at Kamp Krusty are broken when the camp director, Mr. Black, is revealed to be a cruel accountant and the camp supervisors are the school's three teenage bullies. Meanwhile, Homer is rejuvenated when the kids are away and is even starting to regain his hair and lose weight. The children at the camp are treated terribly, but Bart survives by clinging to the promise that Krusty himself will be here soon.

In season 3, when Homer shows up at work wearing a pink shirt, people start to wonder about his sanity. Homer gets confined to a psychiatric hospital where he encounters a gigantic, hulking bald man who claims to be Michael Jackson after Bart takes Homer's mental stability exam for him. Lisa, who is now depressed about turning eight, is ultimately overjoyed to receive a song that was created just for her birthday. While reading a copy of Reading Digest, Homer finds an entry form for an essay contest for which Lisa signs up.

When Bart fails a test, he is given one final chance to pass it before being put back a year. After failing to convince Martin Prince, the smartest student in the class, to assist him, Bart turns to prayer. Springfield is struck by a severe snowfall that evening, and the school is closed, allowing Bart an extra day to study. Despite his desperate efforts, Bart once again fails the exam. He recalls an obscure historical occurrence while sobbing, and Mrs. Krabappel passes him since she sees that he applied practical knowledge.

The Simpson family, which comprises of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, serves as the series' satirical representative of everyday life in America. The program takes place in the fictional town of Springfield and it mocks American culture and society, television, and the human condition. Christmas prospects for the Simpsons appear dim at the beginning of the first season following Bart's tattoo removal, Homer's failure as a department store Santa, and a disastrous day at the dog track.

The season also marks the final appearances of Adam West and Carrie Fisher following their deaths, as well as the show's 300th episode ("Dog Bites Bear").Episodes this season include: A three-episode arc where a seemingly offensive Tweet turns Brian into a social pariah ("The D In Apartment 23", "Petey IV", and "Crimes and Meg's Demeanor") which was inspired by the non-fiction book "So You've Been Publicly Shamed" by Jon Ronson, a Christmas Carol parody where Patrick Swayze's ghost shows Peter what will happen if he never gets his Christmas spirit ("Don't Be a Dickens on Christmas"), Meg becoming a problem drinker ("Crimes and Meg's Demeanor"), the Griffins pulling every TV trope and trick in the book in order to win an Emmy ("Emmy-Winning Episode"), Ian McKellen guest starring as a child therapist who has Stewie as a patient ("Send in Stewie, Please"), a send-up of Sherlock Holmes-style Victorian mysteries ("V is for Mystery"), Brian playing the stock market ("The Woof of Wall Street"), Quagmire losing his penis in an accident ("The Unkindest Cut"), Family Guy being reimagined as a sitcom that's been on TV since the 1950s ("Family Guy Throughout The Years"), and Peter meeting God again ("Are You There, God? It's Me, Peter"). The season includes the 300th episode of the series (“Dog Bites Bear”) where Stewie's friendship with Brian is nearly destroyed when he drunkenly tears apart his teddy bear Rupert.

The big "event" of Season 13 of Family Guy was the crossover with The Simpsons in which the Griffons find themselves in Springfield. All of the major Simpsons characters appeared, and there were inside jokes and callbacks to things from the past of both shows. From there, the season pretty much played out as it always has, basically having a storyline or two of the week in a given episode, but not really any kind of story arc extending through the season.

Still, there’s little getting away from the fact that season five lacks the spark that energised the superb first two or three series, and as a result, there are episodes here that are good where they were once great. There are, still, plenty of examples of the old magic, and it’s still primarily a real pleasure that’s pretty much guaranteed to raise laughs from those who don’t mind their entertainment with a bit of edge. But it’ll be interesting to see where Family Guy goes from here, and whether its real glory days are permanently consigned to the past.
