Without anyone in town knowing her true identity (she passing herself off solely as Addy), she is befriended by the Lapp family - mother and father Emma and Dale, adult son Dylan and teenage daughter Hailey - the owners/operators of the Lapp Christmas tree farm who take her in as long as it takes until her "ride" can come to get her.
