In the beginning, Before Steve sings the National Anthem to a veteran's organization, Stan accompanies Steve to a Vietnam War reenactment, but the event transforms Steve in ways that Stan never imagined. Stan uses Roger to pretend to be the ruler of a Caribbean island in order to sign a treaty and obtain a helicopter, but as Roger realizes that Stan is using him, he comes up with a different strategy. Steve and his friends crash and lose a million military drone that is in his father's custody when the Smiths are gone and Steve is left alone in the house. Francine looks forward to her newly discovered alone time with Stan after Hayley and Steve depart for their individual summers of fun. The only issue is that Roger is still residing in the attic and is vying for attention at all times. Roger finally secures a residence after Francine teaches him to be independent. Stan devises a plan to lure Roger back to the house and liven things up out of concern that he may bore Francine into leaving him. At camp, however, Steve and his friends become victims of a plot that doesn't exactly achieve the desired outcome... To watch American Dad!
