Oblivious Season 1 tells Host Regan Burns that he would take a camera crew with him and ask unsuspecting people trivia questions while playing a role. [1] The person being questioned did not realize they were being filmed until after Burns finished asking the questions, but he usually did one last bit in his role before revealing the truth. Each correct answer earned the contestant $20 in cash. For a possible $100, each person was usually asked five questions. Once per episode, Burns would offer an unsuspecting contestant the chance to win up to $500 more (this was known as the Lightning Round) in exchange for taking on the role of quizmaster. He'd walk them through it with a hidden camera and a headset microphone hidden from view, and the first player would get $100 for every correct answer the next contestant gave.
