While they have never had the best of relationships with their remarried mother who now lives in Sedona, Milo and Maggie were more connected to their father, who died when they were fourteen and who in many ways they resemble in personality. Milo and Maggie reconnect when Maggie receives a telephone call that Milo is in the hospital having tried to commit suicide, she who invites him to stay with her and Lance in his recovery. In their time together, they will have to deal with their largely unspoken dysfunction as siblings, it a big part of his depression, and the emotional issues that hide her own depressive nature.
