The story told by Rogue Agent is adapted from Bronner's article "Chasing Agent Freegard" and tells the true story of professional con man Robert Fregard (Norton) who is a manipulative A master, he blackmailed and kidnapped countless victims by convincing them that he was an undercover MI5 agent. Initially captivated by his charisma, Arterton's character becomes a key figure in Fregard's downfall, and her actions lead to his conviction and arrest.
